Information Governance

Information is a vital asset. organisations need to handle it legally as prescribed by statutory legislation and regulation. The penalties for not doing so include punitive fines and, in some cases, imprisonment. Our experience in information governance can help healthcare sector organisations effectively handle information to avoid these penalties.

CEC provides governance, legal and regulatory services in authoring and reviewing, and oversight of:

  • service legal agreements
  • standard operating procedures
  • non-disclosure agreements
  • information sharing protocols and agreements
  • legal contracts
  • personal data flows and records management
  • business recovery planning

Our expertise enables us to author and review an organisation’s policies, procedures and guidelines and any new legislation that affects health and social care.

Our team in this area has over 15 years’ experience in healthcare management, specialising in information governance and regulation. Previously, we have been involved with over twenty NHS organisations, assisting them to achieve conformity and meet NHS regulations and guidelines.

At present, we are assisting a large London based NHS Trust with a review of all legal documents and contacts. We are also working on the project management and planning for a large Clinical Commissioning Group based in the North of England to share information across the local health economy.

Other services that we offer in the area of Information Governance include Data Security and Protection Toolkit, Cyber Essentials and Serious User Incident Investigations.
